01.06.2008 Cycled to St Giles today. Good, so it was
26.05.2008 Odd and odder, mainly on the coaching front. Marvellous bank holiday. Stratford tomorrow - back to reality with a bump.

20.8.6

Sunday update, started adding the new services for the rest of the year. Will start moving the blog items out as time permits, as it seems the all new blog is up and limping, at the very least at http://www.gregandsusan.co.uk. Sorry for the tempory glitch where 27.8.6 appeared twice...

19.8.6 Finally got rid of the 2004 updates. Didn't get the job at CheckFree, which is bad. Essex beat Surrey, which is very good.
17.8.6

Just a placeholder tweak. Still nothing about CheckFree, and at this stage its a fairly safe bet I didn't get it, which is a disappointment.

Went to see a couple of hours of Essex v Surrey at Castle Park which was pleasant in a low key way.

I'll get rid of the 2004 updates tomorrow - should save a bit of space on the server.

13.8.6

Sunday update - just took off today's service.

Played 9 holes at RWGC with Martin this morning. Very enjoyable it was too.

12.8.6

Tiny tweak to the bit about the London/Southend cycle rally, more for the sake of changing something than anything else.

Today was meant to be a double celebration, what with it being Twenty20 finals day as well as my birthday. However, Essex were hammered in the first semi-final by Leicester. A lot of the blame has got to be laid at the door of James Middlebrook, who served up a series of full tosses which were gratefully dispatched to all quarters of the ground. Ronny Irani survived a more than credible appeal for LBW in the first over but still ended up with a duck. A disappointment all round. Its rained pretty much constantly all day, too, which dampens the spirits. Fortunately still bathing in the afterglow of quite a splendid meeting at the cathedral office last night.

Susan's gone off to Chelmer Cycles to collect her bike, and I really should be thinking about getting ready for golf tomorrow and doing my Book Study homework. Mary sent me a text message just now, which lifted the spirits somewhat in spite of reminding me of an unfortunate menage-a-trois yesterday involving a trout, a walking stick and parts of my anatomy (various).

Drop me a mail if you get this, Mary...

Half responsible church website, half blog vehicle. Suppose I should hive the blog bit off somewhere at some stage: which means unravvelling the mess at www.gregandsusan.co.uk, which is temporarily more or less down - the blogspace there has more potential going forward, but it still needs a fair bit of work on it.- it should be pointing at http://web.mac.com/gregp63/iWeb/Greg%20Potts/Blog/Archive.html, which in itself isn't quite the ticket as yet.

11.8.6 Table background madness. The possibility of anyone actually noticing is, of course, very remote.
10.8.6 Midweek upheaval part 2
9.8.6

Midweek upheaval part 1

A mad world, my masters

Ostensible post-final interview yesterday, although what happens hereon remains something of a mystery, being as how the chap holding the recruitment budget appears to have vanished on holiday. There remains a possibility of an ‘offer in principle’ this week, but more likely is that everything is on hold for a week, or until the mystery holiday reaches its denoument, which ever is the latter. With hindsight I think I might have overplayed my hand slightly yesterday: the person interviewing me has a say in whether I get an offer or not, but how big a say is unclear, so my optimism level has taken a bit of a dip.
